The Aomori Fireworks Festival is one of the largest-scale fireworks displays in Aomori Prefecture, held at Aomori Port. Officially known as the 'Aomori Nebuta Festival Sponsored Fireworks Display,' it takes place every year on the night of August 7, marking the grand finale of the famous Aomori Nebuta Festival. It is a magnificent and traditional event that perfectly celebrates the climax of summer in Aomori.
The most extraordinary feature of this event, unique in the world, is the collaboration between the massive 'Nebuta' floats and the fireworks. You can witness a truly mystical sight where giant, illuminated floats glide across the sea while fireworks explode in the sky above them.
The program begins with a signal blast at 19:00. Around 19:15, selected Nebuta floats will enter the port, beginning the maritime procession. During this time, the program focuses on atmospheric 'early shots' to ensure safety. From 19:45, once the floats depart, the program shifts to a high-intensity display featuring star mines and large-scale launches, filling the entire night sky with brilliant light.

The venue is the area around Aomori Port (near Shin-Chuo Pier and Aoiumi Park).
On the day of the event, traffic restrictions will be in place around the ASPAM building, Bay Bridge, and Labridge. Since driving from the station to the ASPAM area may be restricted, the use of public transportation is highly recommended.
To enjoy the powerful-scale production from a close distance, we recommend using paid spectator seats. Reserved seating, such as pipe seats, will be available at Shin-Chuo Pier and Aoiumi Park. Because the program changes based on the movement of the Nebuta floats, understanding the flow of the event will enhance your experience.
As the event is held near the waterfront, we recommend wearing clothing suitable for a cool sea breeze and potential changes in weather.
