The 52nd Saturday Night Market is a beloved summer tradition held in the central shopping districts of Kochi City, specifically around Oteomachi and Kyo-machi/Shin-kyobashi. The streets transform into a lively gathering place where you can immerse yourself in the local food culture and the energetic atmosphere of a Japanese summer night.
The main attraction is the diverse range of food stalls lining the streets. You can enjoy delicious 'B-grade gourmet' such as beef skewers and yakisoba while strolling through the market. Additionally, traditional Japanese game stalls like goldfish scooping (kingyo-sukui) and yo-yo fishing are available, offering fun experiences for both adults and children.
Near the north entrance of Chuo Park, special entertainment may also take place on certain dates. For example, there are often physical challenges like 'Sports Max Jumping MAX,' where participants can try jumping over a stack of up to 30 boxes. This event is a perfect blend of food, culture, and entertainment.
