The Curie Festival is a signature summer event held in Misasa Onsen, Tottori Prefecture. Centered around the theme of 'Sound, Springs, and Smiles,' the festival features a variety of programs to enliven the hot spring town. From riverside water play and gourmet food to evening parades, there is something for families and friends to enjoy.
A major highlight is the 'Bishonure (Soaked) Operation' held at the riverside upstream of Koitani Bridge. This is a water gun battle event with two styles: a 'Mission-style Paid Area' for elementary school students and above, and a 'Target-free Free Area' for unrestricted play. At the Onsen Plaza, the Food Truck Festa offers delicious treats like curry, shaved ice, fried chicken, and draft beer. As night falls, the 'Wai-Wai Parade' marches through the Misasa Onsen streets, heightening the festive atmosphere.
Date: Sunday, July 26, 2026.
The event takes place around the Misasa Onsen area. Please note that road closures are expected around the hot spring town during the event.
