"Let's Make a Glowing Stone" is a special workshop held at the Art Lab of the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum, featuring instrument interface researcher Junichi Kaneko and Keisuke Shuto. The goal is to have participants create 'the blink stone,' a piece currently on display. Your creation may become part of the museum's permanent exhibition (Note: You cannot take the artwork home).
This project focuses on 'inclusive' expression, experiencing art through multiple senses such as touch and vibration, rather than just sight and sound. It offers a unique experience of feeling the texture of light and sound through the process of creation.
The main highlight is the process of actually building 'the blink stone.' You will experience new sensory expressions based on research into 'co-play instruments' that convert light and sound into vibrations. This changes the museum experience from 'viewing' to 'co-creating.'
This is a continuous two-day program. To fully understand the process from creation to completion and exhibition, participation on both days is required: Day 1 (July 18) and Day 2 (July 26).
This event consists of two mandatory sessions. You must participate in both days to complete the process.
The venue is the 'Art Lab' located on the 2nd floor of the Main Building of the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum. The Art Lab is an experimental space designed to enjoy art using senses beyond sight.

This is a high-level artistic experience based on the research of how light and sound are perceived. Since the finished work cannot be taken home, please participate with the mindset of leaving your creation as part of the museum's exhibition.
