Tamanari Coastal Park (Yoro River Coastal Park) is a beautiful park located along the coast of Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture, where nature and industry blend seamlessly. The greatest attraction here is the "Industrial Night View." The industrial complex, which serves as the core of Ichihara's industry, lights up at night with a variety of colors, creating a dreamlike scene reminiscent of a jewel box spilled open. The shimmering lights reflecting on the sea surface create a unique, special art form that can only be experienced here, a sight that is impossible to see during the day.
This area has long been a vital industrial zone that supported Japan's rapid economic growth. The industrial complex is a symbol of Japan's modernization; its massive structures, intricate piping, and rising steam carry a sense of industrial heritage. While once viewed purely through a functional lens as an industrial zone, the scale and lighting of the area are now re-evaluated as a form of "beauty," evolving into a cultural landscape that attracts many photographers and tourists.

From the park, you can overlook the entire industrial complex stretching along the coastline. The sight of the brightly lit structures is particularly breathtaking, with the changing colors and movement of the lights creating a sense of dynamic energy. Amidst the quiet coastal environment, watching this art of light accompanied by the sound of the waves provides a moment of healing and peace. For photography, the geometric beauty of the structures combined with their reflection on the water is highly popular.
The true essence of this park is found at "night" after the sun has set. The most dramatic change occurs during the "magic hour" as dusk turns to deep blue and the factory lights begin to flicker on. While enjoyable in any season, winter nights are highly recommended because the clear, crisp air makes the outlines of the lights appear even sharper and more brilliant. The beauty of a clear night is truly exceptional.
The primary activity here is "landscape appreciation." Many visitors come with cameras to capture the intricate details of the industrial complex. A stroll along the coast while feeling the sea breeze is also a wonderful way to refresh your mind away from the city's hustle. Additionally, you can experience the industrial night view from a different perspective via a "Factory Night View Cruise" around Chiba Port, offering a dynamic view from the sea.
The surrounding area offers much of the rich nature of Ichihara City. It is an excellent route for a coastal drive, with very smooth vehicle access. Furthermore, near Chiba Port, you can enjoy cruise experiences to see the industrial beauty from the water. There are also various spots nearby to enjoy local gourmet food and seafood characteristic of Chiba Prefecture.
While the park itself is a public space, if you plan to use nearby facilities or parking, we recommend carrying cash or a credit card.
Information boards are available within the park, but detailed English guidance may be limited. We recommend using a smartphone translation app for more detailed information.
No advance reservation is required to enter the park. You are free to visit at any time.
Because the temperature drops due to the sea breeze at night, please bring a light jacket or seasonal warm clothing even in summer. If you plan to take professional photos, bringing a tripod is highly recommended.
Landscape photography is free to enjoy, but please be mindful of other visitors when setting up equipment like tripods.
The park is well-maintained, but please be careful of uneven surfaces or slopes, as it can be dark at night.
This is a public park. Please ensure you take your trash home and be considerate of noise levels to avoid disturbing the surroundings. As the area is close to an industrial zone, please stay within the designated areas for your safety.
