Usoiso Beach is a scenic seaside destination situated along the coast of Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture. This beach is specifically opened during a set period in the summer, offering a wide, shallow shoreline that is perfect for families and leisure seekers. The area is well-developed with essential facilities such as parking lots and restrooms, making it a reliable spot for tourists looking to enjoy the ocean breeze and summer sun.
The coastal infrastructure, including the parking areas, restrooms, and park facilities, was developed as part of the coastal revitalization and protection efforts following the Great East Japan Earthquake. This development has ensured a safe and comfortable environment for leisure activities. While neighboring beach areas (such as the former Toma and Goiso beaches) saw changes in status around May 2022, Usoiso Beach continues to serve as a vital seasonal destination for the local community and visitors during its designated opening periods.

Visitors to Usoiso Beach can enjoy refreshing sea bathing during the peak summer season. The facility is designed for convenience, featuring three dedicated foot-washing shower stations to help rinse off sand easily. Additionally, the beach offers ample space with a parking capacity of approximately 350 vehicles, making it highly accessible for those traveling by car. The changing scenery of the coastline throughout different times of the day and seasons provides a tranquil and beautiful backdrop for photography and relaxation.
Please note that this facility is not open year-round; it operates strictly during the summer season. For example, in 2025, the opening period is scheduled from July 19th to August 17th. To enjoy swimming and sea bathing, you must plan your visit within these specific dates. While the beach is lively during the daytime, please be aware that the atmosphere and crowd levels may vary depending on the weather and sea conditions.

During the summer opening period, visitors can enjoy swimming and coastal activities. However, there are strict local regulations to ensure safety and order: the use of jet skis within the swimming areas is strictly prohibited by ordinance. Furthermore, activities such as beachcombing (searching for shells/stones), marine sports, barbecues, and campfires are not permitted. We ask all visitors to respect these rules to maintain a safe and pleasant environment for everyone.
The area around Usoiso Beach is rich with various tourist attractions in Iwaki City. Notable nearby spots include the popular aquarium 'Aquamarium Fukushima' and the famous leisure resort 'Spa Resort Hawaiians,' which offers hot springs and tropical-themed entertainment. The well-maintained coastal roads also make this an excellent area for scenic drives and long walks along the oceanfront.
