The soft glow of the lanterns is perfect for those looking to capture high-quality night photography.
The park features play areas, making it a great destination for families with children. A quintessential Japanese spring experience is to spread out a picnic sheet and enjoy a lunch (obento) in the open spaces. Whether you are running around in the play area or relaxing under the trees, the park offers a way to deeply connect with the beauty of Japan's changing seasons.
There are several spots with historical charm surrounding Shiroyama Park. For instance, about a 10-minute walk from the park is 'Niimi Gotencho,' an area with beautifully preserved traditional streetscapes. We recommend a walking route that combines enjoying the cherry blossoms with a stroll through these historic streets. Since the park is also within walking distance of JR Niimi Station, it is very accessible for travelers using the train.
While spring days can be pleasant, temperatures often drop significantly in the evening. If you plan to enjoy the night illumination, please bring a warm jacket or wrap. As a matter of etiquette, please remember to take your trash home with you and be mindful of others while taking photographs.
