Nakamachi Church is a historic Catholic church located in Nakamachi, Nagasaki City. Construction began in 1891, and the consecration ceremony was held on September 8, 1897. This church has played a vital role in the Christian culture of Nagasaki. Its most striking feature is its history of surviving the atomic bombing on August 9, 1945. The outer walls and spire remain in their original form, making it a precious designated site of atomic bomb-damaged heritage.
