Mizusawa Racecourse is a horse racing facility located in Oshu City, Iwate Prefecture. The facility is surrounded by a stunning mountain range: Mt. Hayachine to the north, Mt. Kurikoma to the west, Mt. Tokei to the south, and Tane Yamagaura to the east. On clear days, you may even catch a glimpse of the majestic Mt. Iwate. The most spectacular season is spring, when approximately 150 Yoshino cherry trees bloom around the track, drawing many visitors to witness the pink scenery.

The best time to visit is April. By timing your visit with the Yoshino cherry blossom bloom, you can enjoy the race alongside the stunning floral landscape. When the area is open for public viewing, hours are often set between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM, so it is highly recommended to check the schedule in advance. Even in other seasons, the changing colors of the surrounding mountains offer a beautiful sight.
