Kobeicho Forest Park is a public forest park located in Higashishikita-cho, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, offering a rich natural environment. Opened in 1978, the land was originally used as a seedling cultivation site for the Kagawa Agricultural Experiment Station. Today, it serves as a vital community space for promoting health and forest-related knowledge. The park is divided into two main areas: the "Botanical Garden Area," centered around the beautiful Koboicho Pond, and the "Forest Area," centered around Mt. Futago. Visitors can experience a deep connection with nature through seasonal flora, well-maintained walking paths, and various camping facilities.
The history of this park traces back to its role as a seedling cultivation site for agricultural research. Due to its optimal environment for plant growth, the area was later developed into a park aimed at promoting forest knowledge and physical well-being. It is recognized as one of the "Kagawa Midori Hyakusen" (100 Selected Greens of Kagawa) and is part of the "Shikoku Nature Trail" designated by the Ministry of the Environment. Beyond being a simple recreation facility, it plays a crucial role in preserving and passing down the region's natural heritage.
The most iconic feature is the central Koboicho Pond. A walking path circles the pond, allowing visitors to enjoy a relaxing stroll while admiring the waterfront scenery.
