Jupia Land Hirata is a scenic park located in Hirata Village, Ishikawa District, Fukushima Prefecture, characterized by its breathtaking seasonal flower displays. The park utilizes the natural hilly terrain to create a spectacular landscape where pink moss phlox (shibazakura) spreads across the slopes like a vibrant carpet during the spring. As summer approaches, the scenery shifts to a lush display of hydrangeas and lilies, offering a different palette of colors that welcomes visitors throughout the seasons. The well-maintained environment and strategic viewpoints allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the hills.
The area has been developed as a key tourism hub that leverages the natural environment of Hirata Village. The moss phlox landscape, in particular, has become a symbol of the region's natural beauty. The park actively promotes the charm of the area through seasonal flower festivals and cultural events, such as the 'World Hydrangea and Lily Festival,' which attracts both domestic and international visitors. This commitment to preserving the harmony between nature and the local community serves as the foundation for maintaining these beautiful landscapes.

The park features a rotating cast of botanical stars depending on the season. From April to May, the highlight is the stunning pink moss phlox that dyes the hillsides a vivid color. From late June to late July, the focus shifts to the hydrangea and lily gardens, showcasing a beautiful array of purple, white, and pink blooms. Additionally, the park features observation decks that provide panoramic views of the flower-covered hills. Visitors can also check the real-time blooming status via live cameras before their trip to ensure they catch the peak beauty.
The best time to visit depends heavily on the flowers you wish to see. The moss phlox season is from April to May, offering an unforgettable pink landscape. The hydrangea and lily season occurs from late June to late July. Operating hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays, and 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on weekends. During certain periods, 'Early Morning Openings' are held, allowing you to enjoy the flowers in the crisp, fresh morning air. During the moss phlox festival, there may also be light-up events in the evenings.

Beyond just sightseeing, the park offers various ways to enjoy the landscape. You can use the sightseeing carts to navigate the hilly terrain easily. Depending on the season, outdoor live music or stage events may be held, allowing you to enjoy nature accompanied by music. The park also hosts photography-related initiatives, such as Instagram photo contests, making it a perfect spot for travelers to capture and share beautiful memories.
