Doho Park is a vast recreational space located in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, where rich natural beauty blends seamlessly with modern leisure facilities. At the heart of the park lies the stunning Doho Pond, a tranquil body of water surrounded by diverse vegetation. The park's charm lies in its ever-changing seasonal landscapes, making it a beloved destination for walking, picnics, sports, and nature observation. The harmonious sight of the calm water surface and lush greenery provides a deep sense of relaxation for all visitors.
Developed to preserve the natural environment while providing recreational space for citizens, Doho Park is managed as a municipal park. The names of its facilities and the presence of Doho Pond serve as symbols of the region's natural heritage. In recent years, the park has become a center for community-driven conservation, with local residents and NPOs collaborating on projects to protect biodiversity and promote nature observation, embodying a modern approach to sustainable park management.

The central focus of the park is the beautiful Doho Pond. With a depth of less than 5 meters, it maintains a rich ecosystem that supports various aquatic plants. A well-maintained walking path circles the pond, offering opportunities to observe the reflection of trees on the water, seasonal wild birds, and various local wildlife. Visitors can also enjoy seasonal spectacles such as rose festivals in the spring, the vibrant colors of the ginkgo trees in autumn, and the lush hydrangeas that grace the landscape.
The park offers a different face in every season. In spring, enjoy blooming roses and bird watching; in summer, take a dip in the pool amidst deep greenery; in autumn, witness the golden hues of the ginkgo trees; and in winter, enjoy the quiet, serene atmosphere of nature. The mild weather of spring and autumn is particularly ideal for long strolls and picnics. Please note that certain events, such as plant exploration walks or bird watching sessions, are held during specific seasons and times, so checking the schedule in advance is highly recommended.

Doho Park is perfect for active visitors. It features well-equipped facilities including tennis courts, an indoor swimming pool, a gymnasium, and multi-purpose fields, allowing you to stay active while surrounded by nature. The park also hosts diverse community-based activities, ranging from educational workshops on plant life to local events like mini-4WD races or traditional summer water-sprinkling activities, offering a deep connection to the local ecosystem.
The area surrounding the park is characterized by the natural abundance of Tsukuba City. Nearby, you can find cultural landmarks like the Tsukuba New City Memorial Museum and various NPO bases that focus on nature observation, allowing visitors to explore both the cultural and natural charms of the region through various walking paths and local facilities.

As the park is quite large, please prepare accordingly for walking or sports. If you plan to use the tennis courts, specialized tennis shoes are required. For the swimming pool, please bring your swimwear and note that locker fees (100 JPY) are charged, so having small change ready is helpful. While photography is generally allowed, please be mindful of restrictions during specific events. For accessibility, while there are many paths, some areas may have uneven terrain. Please respect the environment by taking your trash home and maintaining the natural beauty of the park.
