The Chikyu no Maruku Mieru Oka Observatory is located at the summit of Mt. Atago, the highest point in the Hokoso district of Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture. As its name suggests, the rooftop observation deck provides a visual experience where the horizon curves gracefully, allowing visitors to truly sense the roundness of the Earth. Additionally, the observatory holds special early morning hours on January 1st for the first sunrise of the year. On this day, it opens at 5:30 AM, allowing visitors to witness the spectacular new year's sunrise. Please note that since this is an early morning operation in winter, thorough preparation for the cold is essential. From spring to summer, the weather tends to be clearer, making it an ideal time to spot distant mountains like Mt. Fuji and Mt. Tsukuba.

The rooftop area can be quite windy, so please wear appropriate clothing according to the season. Especially during the early morning of the New Year or during winter, it can be extremely cold; please prepare warm clothing and heat protection. Regarding payments, please note that for entries before 7:00 AM, only cash or PayPay are accepted. For credit cards and other electronic money, availability may vary depending on the time and situation, so it is recommended to check in advance. Please also observe facility etiquette by maintaining a quiet atmosphere to respect other visitors.
