Event Overview

Hosted at the Yamanashi Prefectural Science Center, the "Robot & Programming Workshop: Gyro Shooter with LEGO WeDo 2.0" offers a practical programming experience using the globally beloved educational blocks, LEGO WeDo 2.0. Instead of just running a program, participants set a specific goal: "making a top spin for a long time." This allows for deep learning through both programming and physical robot modification.

This program aims to foster scientific thinking (STEM education), teaching everything from the basics of controlling robot movements to how physical structures affect motion. It is designed for a wide audience, from elementary school students to adults, to stimulate intellectual curiosity.

Highlights & How to Enjoy

The biggest draw is the "modification" process. Participants don't just rewrite code; they experiment with changing physical parts and structures to see how the robot's behavior changes. The theme, "Gyro Shooter," introduces advanced concepts like rotation mechanisms, inertia, and speed control.

Using the intuitive LEGO WeDo 2.0, even beginners can enjoy stepping up their skills. There is a great sense of achievement when your program makes the robot move exactly as expected! Experience a creative fusion of cutting-edge technology and traditional block play in a science museum environment.
