"Kids' Expedition" is an interactive viewing program held at the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum (NAM), designed for children (elementary school and below) and their guardians. Through questions like "What is this place?" or "How does this artwork make you feel?", participants will explore the artworks and the museum building itself. The goal is to go beyond simple viewing and use dialogue to foster a deep, fun understanding of the environment and the architecture.
The biggest charm of this event is "Dialogic Appreciation," which values a child's free intuition and conversation. By verbalizing discoveries like "What is happening here?" while looking at artworks, children can encounter new perspectives. By treating the entire space—from the galleries to the exterior—as one large field for exploration, families can build a sense of familiarity and imagination through shared conversation.
This event will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026. The schedule is as follows:
The venue is the Collection Gallery of the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum (NAM).
