Experience a special nature observation event in the rich natural environment of Kamiamakusa, Kumamoto. This event is divided into two parts to enjoy completely different aspects of nature. During the day, observe the life of the beautiful Fiddler Crab (a type of crab), and at night, witness the enchanting blue glow of Sea Fireflies. Hosted by the local Amakusa Visitor Center and featuring professional lectures by a professor from Kumamoto University, this event offers a deep, educational experience beyond simple observation.
The greatest charm of this event is the opportunity to witness the "brilliance of life" up close—a sight rarely seen in daily life.
The event consists of two programs. Please note that the schedule varies depending on the program.
The venue differs depending on the observation content:
Both locations are along the coast of the Amakusa area. Since public transportation is limited, we recommend checking your access route in advance.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the wonders of nature. With expert lectures, it is highly recommended for children and adults interested in natural sciences. As this is an outdoor activity, please note the following:
For the Fiddler Crab observation, you will be active on the sandy beach, so clothes and shoes that can get wet are essential. For the Sea Firefly observation, it will be dark at night; please bring a flashlight for safety. Please respect nature and follow all rules to ensure the creatures are not harmed.
