Makuhari Beach Fireworks Festa (the 48th Chiba Citizens' Fireworks Festival) is a beloved summer tradition in Chiba City. The year 2026 is particularly significant as it celebrates the 900th anniversary of the founding of Chiba. Set against the beautiful waterfront of Makuhari, this year's event will feature an unprecedented 24,000 fireworks shells. From traditional large-scale shells to cutting-edge creative displays synchronized with music, prepare for a dynamic and unforgettable summer night at Makuhari Seaside Park.

The event will take place on August 1, 2026. The fireworks display is scheduled from 19:30 to 20:30. Please note that in the event of bad weather or strong winds, a decision regarding cancellation will be made by 9:00 AM on the day of the event.
The venue is Makuhari Seaside Park (1 Mihama, Mihama-ku, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture) and its surrounding areas. The location is approximately a 15 to 20-minute walk from Kaihin-Makuhari Station on the JR Keiyo Line. As heavy crowds are expected, we recommend arriving early and allowing plenty of time for travel.
