Hote Matsuri is an extremely popular event, and surrounding roads and stations will be very crowded on the day. If you wish to see the Mikoshi procession up close, we recommend checking the procession route in advance and securing a spot early.
As this is a sacred Shinto ritual, please watch the Mikoshi with respect and reverence as it passes. Please avoid standing in positions that obstruct the procession or interfering with the flow of traffic.
You can enjoy the festival atmosphere throughout the day, from the departure to the return of the Mikoshi. Ideally, arrive in the morning to witness the ceremonies, wait for the procession through the streets in the afternoon, and watch until the final return in the evening.
