Yori no Ichiri Hanamomo no Sato is a breathtaking scenic spot located in the Takeishi area of Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture. This beautiful Satoyama landscape is characterized by approximately 2,000 flowering peach trees planted along a 4-kilometer stretch of road. From mid-April to early May, the area transforms into a vibrant landscape of white and pink blossoms, creating a picturesque scene that reflects the essence of the Japanese countryside.
The cultivation and preservation of these flowering peach trees are driven by local community efforts. This tradition is deeply rooted in the desire to protect the natural environment and pass down the beautiful seasonal landscapes to future generations. The changing scenery of the Satoyama landscape is considered a vital cultural asset of the region, representing the harmony between human activity and nature.
The primary attraction is the magnificent 4-kilometer avenue of flowering peach trees. The sight of the roadside filled with colorful blossoms in shades of white, pink, and red is a unique spectacle found only in spring. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful stroll through the Satoyama landscape, surrounded by a lush canopy of flowers.
The peak blooming season typically occurs from mid-April to early May, with the most spectacular displays often seen around late April. We recommend visiting during bright daylight hours to fully appreciate the vivid colors of the blossoms. Since the scenery is seasonal, it is highly recommended to check the current blooming status before your visit.
Visitors can enjoy a relaxing walk along the scenic 4-kilometer path through the peach tree groves. During the blooming season, local roadside stalls also operate, offering a variety of goods including peach seedlings, wild mountain plants, local vegetables, pickles, and fresh Soba noodles. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience the seasonal flavors and products of the region.
The area is near several local facilities, including Takeishi Onsen (hot spring), which offers a relaxing way to end your day. The site is accessible via routes connected to Prefectural Road 152, allowing you to enjoy the rich natural environment of the surrounding countryside during your journey.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes, as the path is best explored on foot. If you plan to shop at the local roadside stalls, ensure you carry cash (Japanese Yen), as many small vendors may not accept credit cards. As this is a natural environment, please be mindful of your surroundings: do not damage the plants and ensure you take all your trash home with you to preserve the beauty of the site.
