It has been officially selected as one of 'Japan's 100 Best Terraced Rice Fields' and a 'Connecting Tanada Heritage' (Post-Tanada 100 Selection) by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. This recognition highlights its status as a vital piece of Japan's traditional agricultural landscape. The preservation of this area is driven by the local community, centered around the 'Igami-da Preservation Society,' ensuring the landscape remains vibrant and intact.
