Yoga Shrine is a historic shrine located in Saga City, Saga Prefecture. The complex shrine structure, consisting of the Honden (Main Hall), Heiden (Offering Hall), and Haiden (Worship Hall), is a Registered Tangible Cultural Property known for its exquisite carvings and architectural beauty. The Honden is a large-scale building standing on a stone foundation, showcasing the sophisticated craftsmanship and decorative details of its era. Additionally, the grounds are home to a Great Camphor tree, a designated Natural Monument of Saga Prefecture, creating a space where history and nature exist in perfect harmony.
This shrine has a very ancient history, said to have been founded during the reign of Emperor Kinmei. The deity enshrined here is Toyotama-hime no Mikoto, the grandmother of Emperor Jimmu, often associated with the legendary Dragon Palace.
