Yamasakigawa Shiki-no-michi is a scenic walking path developed along the Yamasaki River in Mizuho Ward, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. The path was created in 1977 in response to local requests for a space filled with seasonal beauty. It is nationally recognized as one of the '100 Famous Cherry Blossom Spots' by the Japan Cherry Blossom Association. The route spans approximately 2.5 kilometers from Ishikawa Bridge to Ochiai Bridge, featuring about 550 cherry trees. The area near Kanae Bridge is particularly famous for its harmonious view of the cherry blossoms reflecting on the river surface.
The history of the Yamasaki River is long, with significant land development occurring in the downstream area during the Edo period. The current riverbed near the mouth was redirected following the development of the Himuro Shinden area in 1856. The tradition of planting cherry trees began with the Ishikawa District Land Readjustment Association in 1927, which planted trees on both banks south of Ishikawa Bridge. The area was further developed under the 'Furusato no Kawa (Hometown River) Model Project' in 1984. By 2007, the revitalization of the Yamasaki River walking path (from Kanae Bridge to Ishikawa Bridge) was completed, creating the beautiful waterfront space enjoyed today.

During the spring peak, occasional night illuminations are held (such as near Kanae Bridge), offering a much more mystical and enchanting atmosphere than during the day.
The riverside is well-equipped with pocket parks, water fountains, and benches. It is an ideal location for a relaxing stroll while observing seasonal flowers or enjoying the sound of the river. Areas like Tanabe Park allow visitors to get closer to the water's edge to experience the riverside environment.
The path is located near public facilities such as Mizuho Sports Park and Paloma Mizuho Sports Park. As it is situated within a residential area, it provides a peaceful and calm environment for walking. Many local parks are nearby, serving as a beloved relaxation spot for the community.
