The Yamaguchi Xavier Memorial Cathedral is a Catholic church built in 1952 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the Jesuit missionary Francis Xavier in Japan. Although the original structure was lost to a fire, it was rebuilt in its current form in 1998.
