Venus Bridge is a unique 90-meter spiral-shaped bridge located in Chuo-ku, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. It connects Kinseidai and Suwayama Observatory. Completed in 1971, the bridge's distinctive architectural design makes it more than just a transit point; it functions as a spectacular observation facility in its own right. It is widely celebrated as one of Kobe's most iconic night view spots, offering breathtaking views of the city skyline and the bustling Kobe Port below.
The name is inspired by a historical astronomical event in 1874, when a French astronomical expedition observed the transit of Venus from an observatory within the current Suwayama Park. This event led to the area's observation point being named "Kinseidai" (Venus Observatory). Additionally, the area once held a romantic tradition involving
