Tsukuba-san Shrine is a historic sanctuary located in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, dedicated to the sacred Mount Tsukuba. The shrine grounds are vast, spanning approximately 370 hectares from the worship hall (Haiden) halfway up the mountain to the summit. Surrounded by lush forests, the area offers a profound sense of peace. A defining feature is the breathtaking panoramic view that stretches across the entire Kanto region from near the summit. Throughout the year, many visitors come to participate in daily rituals and prayers for various blessings, including marriage (en-musubi), traffic safety, and protection from misfortune.

At the shrine, you can witness various traditional prayers performed daily, such as those for matchmaking (en-musubi), traffic safety, and protection from evil. These rituals offer a window into Japan's deep-rooted spiritual culture. Additionally, you can collect Goshuin (sacred calligraphy stamps) or purchase Omamori (protective amulets). These serve as meaningful cultural keepsakes of your visit. Please note that during certain periods, Goshuin may only be available as paper-based versions rather than in a stamp book.
The base of Mount Tsukuba is surrounded by rich natural environments, making it an excellent destination for hiking and mountain climbing.
