Tsuki Usagi no Sato is a specialized facility located in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, centered around the theme of interacting with rabbits. In the spacious "Rabbit Plaza," various breeds of rabbits live freely, allowing you to observe their natural behaviors up close. The facility includes a covered area, ensuring a comfortable experience regardless of the weather.
The name of the facility is inspired by local legends involving the "Moon Rabbit" of Kaga, serving as a community-rooted space for connecting with nature. Beyond being a simple tourist spot, it functions as an experiential park where visitors can deepen their bond with animals.
The greatest charm is the sight of the rabbits roaming freely in the plaza. You can observe their natural habits, such as digging holes or napping. Additionally, special events are held at specific times, offering different experiences each time you visit. You can also encounter two Sulcata tortoises living within the plaza, providing a chance to meet animals beyond just rabbits.
The facility is open year-round (except for maintenance days) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. While it is enjoyable in any season, the presence of a covered area allows for a pleasant stay even during light rain. Please note that certain events, such as the "Nakayoshi Ohiza Time" (Friendly Lap Time), may have different schedules on weekends, holidays, or weekdays, so we recommend checking the schedule in advance.
Visitors can enjoy deep interaction with the animals. Under staff supervision, you can participate in special menus like the "Nakayoshi Ohiza Time," where you can have a rabbit sit on your lap. Additionally, specialized food (such as hay and vegetables) is available for purchase at the plaza's vending machines, allowing you to experience the joy of feeding them. Original merchandise is also available for purchase.
Located in Kaga City, Ishikawa, the area is surrounded by historical streetscapes and famous hot spring (onsen) districts. Tsuki Usagi no Sato is easily integrated into a broader Kaga sightseeing itinerary.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, please follow these rules. When feeding the animals, you must wear the designated gloves provided. To protect the health of the animals, bringing food from home is strictly prohibited. As rabbits are very timid creatures, please maintain a quiet demeanor—avoid loud noises or sudden movements. If visiting with children, please ensure they are closely supervised by an adult at all times.
