Toneri Park is a vast metropolitan park spanning approximately 65 hectares in Adachi, Tokyo. Despite its location within the Tokyo metropolitan area, the park offers an expansive sense of openness with abundant natural scenery and wide-open skies. The park is divided into four distinct areas by roads, each offering a unique experience. Whether you want to engage in active sports, enjoy a relaxing barbecue or camping trip, or observe wildlife in the nature zones, there is something for every mood and purpose.
The history of this park is deeply connected to urban defense planning around the time of World War II. It originated as a project to secure vast green spaces to address fire prevention and hygiene issues caused by urban overcrowding. After a period of transition where the land was used for agriculture following the war, the park was fully developed in 1981. Today, it serves as a vital green hub for local residents and visitors alike. Interestingly, the park also shares a unique coexistence with urban infrastructure, as the depot for the Nippori-Toneri Liner railway is located beneath the park grounds.
The park features several diverse zones designed to keep visitors engaged. A major highlight is the 'Waterfront/Water-friendly Zone' centered around a large pond. This area is rich in natural vegetation like reeds and cattails, providing a beautiful habitat for various water birds. Families will love the 'Jabujabu Pond' for water play and the 'Sori-gelande' area, which uses the natural terrain for fun activities.

Families with children will find great excitement in the 'Adventure Hill' or playing in the water areas with water sliders. The park is located across the Toneri, Nishi-Iko, and Fuchiya areas of Adoli, a mix of residential and commercial neighborhoods. It is easily accessible via the Nippori-Toneri Liner, with 'Toneri Koen Station' located nearby. While parking is available on-site, we recommend using public transportation during weekends or during events, as traffic in the surrounding areas can become heavy.
