Toshi Nogyo Koen is a nature-focused park located on the super levee in Kamihama, Adachi City, Tokyo. Since its opening in 1984, it has served as an educational facility to deepen understanding of plant cultivation, gardening, and agriculture. Even within the urban sprawl of Tokyo, visitors can experience the rhythms of nature through well-maintained rice fields, orchards, and greenhouses. The park also preserves the traditional landscapes of Tokyo's outskirts, making it a beloved community space for relaxation and family recreation.
The park opened in 1984 and is officially part of the larger Kohoku Park area. Situated near the mouth where the Shiba River meets the Arakawa River, it plays a vital role in teaching coexistence between agriculture and the natural environment. Following a renewal in 1995, the facilities were significantly enhanced. The park's contribution to local culture was recognized in 1996 when it received the 'Tezukuri Kyodo Award.' A notable feature is the traditional Japanese folk house (kominka) relocated from within Adachi, which allows visitors to experience the architectural styles and agricultural lifestyle of old Tokyo.

You can enjoy different landscapes and activities depending on the season, especially during harvest times when the agricultural aspect is most vibrant. Opening hours vary by season: from October to May, the park is open until 17:00, and from June to September, it stays open until 18:00. The evening hours are particularly pleasant for cyclists looking for a peaceful rest.
The defining feature of Toshi Nogyo Koen is its hands-on agricultural programs. These educational programs require advance reservations via the 'Livepocket' online system, where you can manage ticket purchases, lottery entries, and payments. Through these programs, you can learn about the bounty of nature through actual cultivation and gardening. Please note that some programs may require pre-payment.
The southern side of the park opens up to the Arakawa Riverbed Green Space, a popular destination for walking and cycling. It is also a known junction for the Shiba River Cycling Road, making it a well-connected area for outdoor enthusiasts looking to escape the city bustle.
As you will be spending time in a natural environment, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and sturdy walking shoes. This is especially important if you are participating in an agricultural program.
