Toranomon Hills is a large-scale, multi-functional urban complex located in the Toranomono and Atago areas of Minato, Tokyo. The development is composed of five major pillars: Mori Tower, Business Tower, Residential Tower, Station Tower, and the striking Glass Rock structure. The development of this area traces back to the 1946 planning of the Circular Route 2 (now Route 405). While the project faced long-standing challenges regarding land acquisition, it was revitalized by the 1989 creation of the multi-level road system. This allowed for a groundbreaking redevelopment where buildings were constructed atop underground roads. Following the opening of Mori Tower in 2014 and the Business Tower in 2020, the full-scale completion including the Station Tower in 2023 has established a modern model of urban development that integrates infrastructure with high-end commercial functions.
