Opened in 1993, this park has long been a leader in Japan's miniature park culture. The exhibits are more than just models; they serve as a "World Architecture Museum" where visitors can learn about the unique cultures and architectural styles of different nations. The park is constantly evolving, frequently updating its exhibits to include the latest global landmarks, ensuring there is always something new to discover.
The park is divided into various themed zones, such as the Egypt Zone, Europe Zone, and America Zone, each showcasing the distinct architecture of that region. While the park is enjoyable year-round, it offers different charms depending on the season. In spring and summer, the bright sunlight makes it an excellent time to photograph the miniatures amidst changing seasonal-themed landscapes. While the park primarily focuses on daytime viewing, the atmosphere can feel quite magical depending on the seasonal events held. For the best experience, we recommend visiting during daylight hours to clearly observe the intricate details of the highly precise models. Combining this with a visit to the broader Nikko area allows for a well-rounded travel itinerary.
Beyond just sightseeing, the park offers various interactive entertainment options. You can enjoy immersive storytelling through digital theater experiences or meet the park's characters, Tom and Mime, during greetings. To enhance your travel experience, the on-site restaurant allows you to enjoy a meal while feeling the atmosphere of different parts of the world. There are also numerous photo spots throughout the park, perfect for capturing unique and memorable shots.
Tobu World Square is situated in the Nikko area, a famous destination known for its many historical temples, shrines, and UNESCO World Heritage sites. After enjoying the miniature world, we recommend planning a route to explore nearby hot spring (onsen) resorts or the historic streets of Nikko. Access is very convenient via the Tobu Nikko Line, using the dedicated "Tobu World Square Station."
As much of the park involves walking outdoors, we highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and easy-to-move-in clothing. It is also wise to bring a hat for sun protection or rain gear depending on the weather. The park is equipped with rest areas, kids' rooms, and break lounges, so please take breaks as needed. Regarding food and drink, please refrain from bringing outside food into the park; instead, please use the on-site restaurants or the designated picnic area near the main entrance.
