Tatsuoka Nature Park is a beautiful public park located in Uto City, Kumamoto Prefecture. The park's defining feature is the way approximately 2,000 cherry trees are arranged around two scenic bodies of water: Tatsuoka Pond and Hanazono Pond. This stunning cherry blossom scenery makes the park a highly popular destination for families and photographers, especially during the peak blooming season.
The ponds within the park, Tatsuoka Pond and Hanazono Pond, hold significant historical value. Local tradition suggests these water bodies were originally excavated by the famous Japanese feudal lord Kato Kiyomasa.
