Takizawa Dam is located in the Oto district of Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture. The most significant feature of this site is the rare opportunity for general visitors to observe the internal structure of the dam up close. While the interior of many dams is strictly off-limits to the public, Takizawa Dam allows access via an internal elevator, providing a firsthand look at its massive scale. Beyond the impressive engineering, the surrounding area features the beautiful reservoir known as "Momiji Lake," offering a perfect harmony between man-made structures and natural beauty.
Takizawa Dam was constructed for the purpose of managing water resources within the Arakawa River system.
