Guide
Takebe no Mori Park is a recreation facility nestled in the natural beauty of Takebe, Kita Ward, Okayama City. The vast grounds are designed to showcase the changing seasons, making it an ideal destination for those looking to connect with nature. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking scenery such as cherry blossoms in the spring and lush hydrangeas in early summer. During the summer, the park becomes a lively hub with the opening of its leisure pool. The wide-open spaces offer a relaxing atmosphere for unwinding amidst the greenery.
The park's development traces back to a planning project in the 1980s. Following a three-year development plan starting in 1983, it officially opened in July 1986 as the "Kibi Kogen Takebe Family Travel Village - Takebe no Mori." Originally conceived as part of a resort development project, it has evolved into a major recreation hub that utilizes the local natural environment. The facility is managed by a third-sector organization involving local government and regional businesses, ensuring a balance between nature conservation and tourism promotion.

The park offers various attractions depending on when you visit. In the spring, the cherry blossom scenery is a major draw, while the early summer brings a vibrant display of hydrangeas. In the summer, the leisure pool becomes the center of activity, perfect for water play and cooling off. The park also features walking paths and ponds that allow you to feel the subtle shifts in the seasons through a peaceful stroll. With various facilities designed for families and groups, it is a place where you can truly become one with nature.
We recommend different activities depending on the season. For spring (late March to April), visit during the cherry blossom season for beautiful scenic walks. In early summer (around June), the hydrangeas are a highlight. Summer (late July to August) is the best time for the leisure pool and outdoor water activities. Please note that the park is closed during the winter season (approximately December to February), so it is essential to check the opening schedule before your visit. The atmosphere shifts from bright and active during the day to calm and serene toward the evening.
There is no shortage of things to do at Takebe no Mori Park. During the summer, the leisure pool features amenities like a wave pool and slides for maximum fun. For those seeking a deeper outdoor experience, the park offers camping and auto-camping sites. Additionally, active visitors can enjoy the BMX course, pitter golf, and the grassy areas designed for disc golf. Whether you want to move your body or simply relax, the park provides a wealth of recreational opportunities.
The park is surrounded by the rich natural landscapes of the Kibi Kogen area. When planning your trip, you can combine a visit here with local historical sites or scenic routes. The surrounding area is also home to several golf courses and resort facilities, making the entire region a perfect destination for outdoor recreation and leisure-based travel.
As this is a natural park, comfortable clothing and walking shoes are highly recommended. If you plan to use the leisure pool in summer, please remember to bring swimwear, a change of clothes, and a towel. Regarding payments, please note that admission and facility fees are primarily handled in cash. To help preserve the natural environment, please follow all park rules and dispose of trash properly. English-language support and signage are limited, so we recommend using a translation app if needed. For specific facility usage, please check the official website in advance for any reservation requirements.
