Takato Shinwa-no-oka Rose Garden is a breathtaking rose garden located in Takato, Ina City, Nagano Prefecture. Situated at an altitude of 830m, the garden offers a unique experience where visitors can enjoy the elegance of blooming roses alongside a sweeping view of the Takato cityscape and the magnificent Central Alps stretching across the horizon. The garden becomes a spectacle of color during the spring and autumn seasons, captivating visitors with its beauty.
This rose garden was established to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Nagano office of Shinwa Controls Co., Ltd. It was donated to the present-day Takato area (now part of Ina City) in 2005, and celebrated its grand opening on June 1, 2007. It serves as a local symbol of beauty, maintained in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural environment.

The garden is home to over 3,000 roses encompassing approximately 270 different varieties. During the peak blooming seasons of spring and autumn, the air is filled with the rich fragrance and vibrant colors of the roses. One of the most striking features is the panoramic view from the elevated location, allowing visitors to gaze upon the changing scenery of the Takato townscape and the majestic peaks of the Central Alps.
The best times to visit are spring (around April and May) and autumn (around October). The spring season is particularly popular as the rose colors are at their most vivid and striking. During the bright daylight hours, the Central Alps appear clearly against the sky, making the colors of the roses pop even more. We recommend spending a relaxing time here to feel the subtle changes of the seasons.

The primary activity is a leisurely stroll through the rose garden. You can wander along the garden paths, enveloped in the sweet scent of roses, and enjoy the different expressions of the flowers throughout the seasons. It is an ideal environment for photography enthusiasts and those looking to relax in nature.
