Located halfway up the slopes of Mount Takao, the Takao-san Monkey Garden & Wildflower Garden is a specialized facility where visitors can observe the lives of Japanese macaques and a diverse array of mountain wildflowers within a natural habitat. The Monkey Garden is home to approximately 90 macaques, allowing you to witness their social behaviors up close. Adjacent to the monkey enclosure, the Wildflower Garden features about 300 species of plants, offering a colorful display that changes beautifully with each season.

Because the landscape is dictated by the seasons, the scenery is never the same twice. The facility is conveniently situated halfway up Mount Takao. It is easily accessible via the Takaosan Cable Car or the Takaosan Lift, making it a perfect stop during a hike. Major transport hubs include Takaosan Station, Takao-sanjo Station, and Kiyotaki Station. Additionally, parking facilities are available near Takaosanguchi Station for those arriving by car.
Since the facility is located in a natural, mountainous environment, comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. Please follow the local rules regarding photography and animal interaction.
