Sun Meadows Kiyosato Ski Resort is a premier mountain destination situated in the beautiful Kiyosato Highlands of Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. The ski slopes range from an altitude of approximately 1,600 to 1,900 meters, offering a refreshing and exhilarating high-altitude environment. One of its most significant features is its exceptionally high sunny day rate. The Hokuto area is known for having some of the highest sunshine hours in Japan, and this facility boasts a sunny day rate of approximately 80%. In winter, visitors can enjoy skiing and snowboarding under the brilliant, vivid blue skies known as "Yatsugatake Blue." In summer, the resort transforms into a vibrant destination centered around the "Kiyosato Terrace," providing a wonderful way to experience the great outdoors and lush nature.
The facility has a long history as a ski area in Yamanashi Prefecture. While it has deep roots in the region, significant development took place during the 1980s. In 1990, it opened as "Kitz Meadows Oizumi-Kiyosato Ski Resort," and in 2002, it adopted its current name, "Sun Meadows Kiyosato Ski Resort."
