Suun Sanso is a magnificent Japanese garden located in Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture. Originally the residence of Kenzo Iizuka, the founder of Kashiwazaki Gas, the garden was meticulously designed in 1926 based on a six-panel folding screen painting by the artist Ito Buryo. The landscape is a harmonious blend of nature and art, featuring a central pond, stone lanterns, stone monuments, and an iconic arched bridge (taiko-bashi). The garden is surrounded by a diverse variety of trees, including Japanese red pine, azaleas, and maple trees, which offer a different, beautiful expression with every season.
