At Hana no Umi, the philosophy is centered on the concept of "Know, Feel, Experience, and Taste." Every step of the process—from seedling cultivation to growth management and final harvesting—is meticulously managed by professional staff. The farm focuses on high-quality soil development and minimal pesticide use to ensure the highest quality of seasonal produce. Activities vary significantly by season. From spring to early summer, focus on strawberries and blueberries. In summer, enjoy sweet corn and sunflower fields. Autumn brings sweet potatoes, potatoes, and fresh peanuts, alongside beautiful cosmos flower fields. The farm is generally open from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. However, please note that the cafe, "Italian Shokudo," operates from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, so plan your mealtime accordingly. There is a wide variety of hands-on agricultural experiences available. Popular activities include strawberry and blueberry picking, as well as digging for vegetables like sweet potatoes, potatoes, peanuts, and sweet corn. Once you begin your harvest, there is no strict time limit for your picking session. Occasionally, special seasonal events such as plant potting workshops or stone-oven pizza making may also be held.
Located in Sanyo-Onoda City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the farm is surrounded by various local sightseeing spots. It is an excellent destination to combine with a scenic drive through the Yamaguchi region.
Since you will be participating in agricultural activities, we recommend wearing comfortable, practical clothing. Depending on the season, please bring sun protection (hat/sunscreen) or warm layers for cooler weather. For payments, the facility accepts credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) and various transportation IC cards. While the farm does not require strict reservations, capacity may be limited based on crop growth, so checking ahead is recommended. The facility is accessible with wheelchair-friendly entrances and parking available.
