The Shogawa River Cruise offers a stunning way to explore the Shogawa Gorge in Tonami, Toyama Prefecture. Departing from Komaki Port, the cruise features two distinct routes: the "Omaki Onsen Course," which leads to a renowned hot spring area, and the "Nagasaki Bridge Loop," a shorter route perfect for a quick scenic overview. The area has a unique history involving the "Shogawa Railway," once used to transport materials for dam construction. Built by the Kaetsu Railway in 1926, this route eventually served tourists before being decommissioned in 1938. The transition in late spring is particularly notable for its local flora.
This is a relaxing way to observe the natural environment from the water. The Omaki Onsen Course takes approximately 60 minutes round-trip, while the Nagasaki Bridge Loop takes about 25 minutes. Please note that if you wish to disembark at Omaki Port for the Omaki Onsen area, you must have a prior reservation for a stay or day-trip at an Omaki Onsen inn. One-way trips are not available, so please confirm your route in advance.
