Shizukuishi Kawaenchi is a nature-rich park situated along the Shizukuishi River in Shizukuishi Town, Iwate Prefecture. Along the riverbanks, approximately 150 Somei Yoshino cherry trees are planted, creating a breathtaking tunnel of blossoms in the spring. The park is characterized by its excellent accessibility, being within walking distance of JR Shizukuishi Station, and its refreshing, open riverside scenery.
The area is developed in connection with the Gosho-ko Wide-area Park, serving as a beloved community space that utilizes the local natural landscape. Through the well-maintained riverside paths and promenades, the area maintains a beautiful harmony with nature. The scenery along the riverbanks changes with the seasons, serving as a symbolic landscape of the region's natural beauty.

The most spectacular sight is the row of Somei Yoshino cherry trees stretching along the riverbank. In spring, the approximately 150 trees bloom in full, offering a stunning view alongside the flowing water. Additionally, the "Riverside Promenade" connecting Nogiku Park to Shizukuishi Kawaenchi is a well-maintained walking path that allows visitors to feel the closeness of the river and the surrounding nature.
The peak viewing season for the cherry blossoms is typically from mid-April to early May. During this window, you can witness the Somei Yoshino trees in full bloom. Please note that during the winter months, snow removal is not performed on the walking paths, which may restrict access or movement. The landscape changes beautifully depending on the season.
