The garden offers a variety of stunning views depending on when you visit. The most iconic sight is the hydrangea (ajisai) display, which peaks around June and gives the garden its identity. In mid-to-late November, the landscape transforms into a sea of red and gold as the autumn foliage colors the mountainside. As you wander through the well-maintained walking paths, the varying elevations provide ever-changing perspectives, ensuring that every step offers a new and beautiful discovery.
There are two primary seasons to visit for the best experience. For hydrangea lovers, the peak is from early to late June. For those wishing to see the brilliant autumn colors, the best time is from mid-to-late November. We recommend visiting in the bright morning light to see the vivid colors of the flowers, or during the calm afternoon hours to enjoy a relaxing break at the teahouse. On clear days, the natural colors of the garden appear exceptionally vivid.
The primary activity here is a leisurely stroll through nature. The well-maintained paths allow you to observe seasonal flowers and autumn leaves up close. Visitors can also experience a fusion of nature and art at the on-site pottery gallery.
