Guide
Located in Sera Town, Hiroshima Prefecture, Sera Lily Garden is a vast, all-weather flower farm spanning approximately 7 hectares within the beautiful nature of the Sera Plateau. Operating under the concept of "A hill connecting nature and people," the garden offers breathtaking landscapes of seasonal flowers. It is renowned as one of Japan's largest lily gardens, cultivating 140 varieties and a total of 700,000 lilies throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy more than just viewing lilies; the experience includes admiring massive seasonal flower art, interacting with baby goats, and even enjoying an auto-camping experience amidst the natural scenery.
Opened in the autumn of 2004, the garden leverages the stunning natural environment of the Sera Plateau to focus on the cultivation and sale of lilies. Beyond being a mere viewing facility, it serves as a local "Flower Station" designed to provide inspiration, healing, and energy to all who visit. The facility is designed to be an all-weather destination, making it a symbolic landscape of the region's natural culture where the scenery shifts beautifully with the changing seasons.

The greatest draw is the colorful landscape spreading across the vast hills. During the peak lily season, the sight of hundreds of thousands of lilies in bloom is truly overwhelming. The garden also features one of Japan's largest flower art installations, allowing visitors to enjoy the sculptural beauty of flowers. Depending on the season, you can also see a diverse range of flowers such as daffodils, tulips, freesias, peonies, and marigolds, ensuring a different and beautiful experience every time you visit.
Because the star of the show changes with the seasons, the scenery varies significantly depending on when you visit. The peak lily season occurs from April to June. In the spring, you can enjoy tulips and daffodils, while summer brings peonies and much more, followed by marigolds in the autumn. The bright daylight hours are ideal for observing the vivid colors of the hills. For a more immersive experience, the garden also features an auto-camping site, allowing you to feel the stillness of the night and the crisp, fresh air of the morning.
There is much more to do than just looking at flowers. You can enjoy direct interaction with nature, such as the baby goat interaction area, which is a hit with both children and adults. Additionally, the on-site auto-camping ground provides a perfect setting for an outdoor adventure. Whether it is through the artistry of the flower sculptures or the seasonal plant cycles, the garden offers a unique fusion of art and nature.
The Sera Plateau area, where Sera Lily Garden is located, is a region rich in agricultural charm. The surrounding area features many farms and natural landscapes, making it a perfect destination for driving or touring. It is highly recommended to include this garden as part of a scenic route through Hiroshima's natural beauty.
As the garden covers a vast hilly area with some slopes, we highly recommend wearing comfortable clothing and sturdy walking shoes. It is also wise to bring a foldable umbrella or a light jacket to prepare for changing weather.
