Sera Koyama Fureai no Sato is a versatile multi-purpose resort facility located in Sera Town, Sera District, Hiroshima Prefecture. Nestled within a lush, natural environment, it is most famous as a premier destination for viewing weeping cherry blossoms (shidare-zakura). The facility offers a changing tapestry of scenery that evolves with the seasons, making it a beloved spot for nature lovers.
The facility was formerly known as Koyama Fureai no Sato. Although there was a period when the site was closed, it has since reopened and revitalized its operations as the current Sera Koyama Fureai no Sato. It serves as a vital community-based leisure facility that leverages the rich natural resources of the local region to provide a space for relaxation and engagement with nature.

The primary draw of this facility is the breathtaking natural scenery that shifts with the seasons. The most spectacular sight is the weeping cherry blossoms that bloom in spring, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. During the peak cherry blossom season, the facility often extends its operating hours into the evening, allowing visitors to enjoy the blossoms under the night sky. The intricate shapes of the seasonal flora and the natural landscape provide a deeply immersive experience for all visitors.
The best time to visit is during the spring cherry blossom season. A special Cherry Blossom Festival is held to coincide with the peak blooming of the weeping cherry trees. During this festive period, the facility may extend its closing time from the usual 5:00 PM to as late as 9:00 PM. The nighttime illuminations offer a unique and magical view of the landscape that can only be experienced during this time. Additionally, in early summer, the facility hosts an Hydrangea Festival, offering a different but equally beautiful palette of seasonal flowers.
Visitors can enjoy a peaceful time immersed in nature. Whether it is a leisurely stroll through the blooming paths or simply admiring the seasonal vistas, the facility offers a perfect escape from urban life. Through specific events like the Spring Cherry Blossom Festival or the Early Summer Hydrangea Festival, you can connect more deeply with the seasonal rhythms of the Japanese landscape.
The area surrounding Sera Town is characterized by its abundant and rich natural environment. Sera is an ideal destination for those who enjoy scenic driving routes and nature observation. The changing colors of the mountains and fields throughout the year provide a beautiful backdrop for exploring the wider Sera district.
As this is an outdoor-focused facility, please come prepared for the elements. We recommend bringing clothing appropriate for the season, especially during the spring and early summer when temperature fluctuations can be significant. Please respect the natural environment and follow local etiquette to help preserve the beauty of the park for future visitors.
