Sakura Toge is a renowned destination for Oyama cherry blossoms (Oyamazakura), located at an altitude of approximately 800 meters in Kitashiobara Village, Fukushima Prefecture. With about 3,000 cherry trees planted across the area, the entire pass is transformed into a magnificent sea of pink during the spring. A unique feature of this location is the breathtaking sight of cherry blossoms blooming alongside the lingering white snow from winter, creating a rare and beautiful landscape. The greatest draw is the incredible gradient of color created by the 3,000 Oyama cherry trees. Sakura Toge is located near the popular Urabandai sightseeing area. It is easily accessible by car, approximately 40 minutes from the Aizu-Wakamatsu IC on the Ban-etsu Expressway. The surrounding area features various amenities including restaurants, cafes, accommodations, and roadside stations (Michi-no-Eki), making it easy to combine a scenic walk with a relaxing meal or a stay in the mountains. Since roadside stations can become crowded during peak seasons, we recommend checking local information in advance.
Please carry cash for any local contributions (such as parking fees) or small purchases at nearby facilities. While some larger facilities may accept credit cards, cash is highly recommended for a smooth experience.
While some signage and facilities in the surrounding area may offer English-language information, much of the local guidance is primarily in Japanese.

Since the location is at an altitude of 800m, temperatures can be quite low even in spring. Please bring a jacket or layers to adjust to the temperature, and wear comfortable walking shoes for your stroll.
