Sakuratsutsumi Park, located in Yoshimi Town, Saitama Prefecture, is famous for its magnificent 1.8km-long cherry blossom avenue. Developed as part of the local 'Furusato Walking Path' project, the park offers a rich, natural landscape that changes beautifully with the seasons. It serves as a key hub for outdoor enthusiasts, as it sits along a popular cycling and walking route that connects Akigase Park in Saitama City to Shinrin Koen in Namikawa Town.
The park was established as part of a local landscape preservation initiative, where cherry trees were planted alongside the development of the 'Furusato Walking Path.' This area was designed to allow residents and visitors to connect deeply with nature while maintaining the local ecosystem. The cherry blossom-lined path has become a cherished symbol of the local scenery and a landmark for the community.

The most striking feature is the continuous 1.8km embankment lined with cherry trees. In spring, the sight of delicate pink cherry blossoms blooming simultaneously with bright yellow rapeseed flowers (nanohana) creates a breathtaking, colorful landscape. The well-maintained paths make it an ideal route for those who wish to enjoy a scenic ride through nature.
The scenery changes distinctly throughout the year. The peak beauty occurs from March to April, when the pink cherry blossoms and yellow rapeseed flowers bloom together, creating a vivid tapestry of color. You may also see different seasonal flora, such as the blooming of Higanbana (red spider lilies) later in the season. The park is open 24 hours a day, allowing you to visit at any time that suits your schedule, whether for a morning stroll or an evening walk.
Visitors can enjoy various outdoor activities, most notably cycling along the established paths or walking along the 'Furusato Walking Path.' The park is a popular destination for cyclists traveling between major parks in the region. During the peak spring season, the area becomes a hub for photography and leisurely strolls amidst the blossoms.
Sakuratsutsumi Park is strategically located on the route connecting Akigase Park (Saitama City) and Shinrin Koen (Namikawa Town). Because of its location, it is often used as a destination or a scenic waypoint for cyclists exploring the wider Saitama area.
As the park is a natural environment, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and clothing suitable for light exercise or cycling. If you are cycling, please ensure your bicycle is in good working order. While there are no entrance fees or reservation requirements, please be mindful of the environment: please take all your trash home with you to help preserve the natural beauty of the park.
