Saburi Midori to Hana no Fureai Koen is an experiential park located in Chita City, Aichi Prefecture, designed to showcase the natural beauty surrounding Saburi Ike (Saburi Pond). The park is home to approximately 6,000 plum trees, offering a spectacular display of seasonal flowers. The plum blossom season in spring is the park's most iconic time, drawing many visitors. The facility is well-equipped with amenities such as the 'Ume no Yakata' (Plum Hall), a cafe, and a BBQ house, allowing guests to enjoy dining and recreation in a serene natural setting.
The area is characterized by a rich natural environment centered around Saburi Ike, where a culture of living in harmony with nature has long been established. The park plays a vital role in sharing the region's natural abundance through seasonal events tied to the plum blossom cycles. Programs such as the plum harvesting experience allow visitors to connect deeply with local traditions and experience the direct gifts of nature firsthand.

The primary draw of the park is the magnificent view of the plum grove in spring. Seeing 6,000 plum trees in full bloom provides a powerful sense of the changing seasons. During the Plum Festival, a special nighttime illumination is held, creating a magical scene where the illuminated blossoms reflect beautifully on the surface of the water. Beyond spring, the park offers diverse seasonal changes, including birdwatching opportunities in the winter, making it a destination for nature observation throughout the year.
The most highly recommended time to visit is from February to March, when the plum blossoms reach full bloom. During this peak season, the nighttime illumination (typically from 17:00 to 20:00) offers a unique way to experience the park. The combination of the illuminated flowers and the quiet night air creates a truly enchanting atmosphere. Additionally, look out for events like plum harvesting experiences scheduled around May and June.
There are various ways to engage your senses at the park. A signature activity is the plum harvesting experience (reservation required), where you can pick your own plums to take home. For a relaxing time, you can enjoy a meal at the BBQ house, take a break at the cafe, or simply stroll through the scenic paths. During certain seasonal events, food trucks and kitchen cars also appear, adding to the variety of culinary delights.
The park is surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Chita Peninsula. The scenery around Saburi Ike is perfect for leisurely walks and photography. Nearby facilities, such as Medias Park Nanagari, also provide multi-purpose grounds and tennis courts, making the area a great hub for outdoor recreation.
We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes for exploring the park. If you plan to enjoy the nighttime illuminations, please be aware that paths can be dark and uneven. Depending on the season, it is wise to bring a light jacket or warm clothing. We also suggest checking official information in advance regarding the availability of dining facilities and specific event schedules.
