Ryugan-en is a beautiful natural scenic spot located in Kuzuwa, Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is most famous for its breathtaking cherry blossom display that stretches approximately 250 meters from Ryugan Bridge to Takito Bridge. Between late March and early April, the entire landscape transforms into a soft pink hue, offering a quintessential Japanese spring experience.
Ryugan-en is cherished as a vital part of the local natural landscape. While there are no specific historical structures documented at this site, the area is deeply valued for its seasonal natural beauty, which is carefully preserved to allow visitors to experience the changing seasons of the region.
The primary attraction is the magnificent row of cherry trees extending from Ryugan Bridge to Takito Bridge. This 250-meter stretch provides a perfect corridor for walking and photography. During the peak bloom, the contrast between the blossoms and the surrounding natural scenery makes it a highly popular destination for photographers and nature lovers.
The absolute best time to visit is from late March to early April. During this window, the landscape changes dramatically as the blossoms reach full bloom. Additionally, on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, you may find food trucks (kitchen cars) operating near the area, adding a lively and enjoyable atmosphere to your visit.
Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls along the cherry blossom-lined paths to appreciate the seasonal scenery. On weekends and holidays, the presence of food trucks offers a great opportunity to enjoy local snacks while soaking in the natural environment.
The area is near several points of interest, including the Fuji River Plaza (Fuji-gawa Rakuza) and other scenic natural spots. If you are traveling by public transport, the area is easily accessible from nearby stations such as Iriyamase Station.
As this is an outdoor natural site, we highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. If you plan to enjoy food from the local food trucks, please remember to carry cash, as many vendors may not accept digital payments. If you are traveling by large tour bus, please contact the Mt.
