This street is renowned as the path once frequently traveled by Sakamoto Ryoma and his comrades of the Kameyama Shachu. Today, it is preserved as a "Nagasaki Historical Exploration Route," adorned with senryu (humorous poetry) signboards and various monuments and statues dedicated to Ryoma's life and legacy.
