Rinko Park is the largest park in the Minato Mirai district, located in Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa. Situated adjacent to the outdoor areas of Pacifico Yokohama, the park stretches along the coastline of Yokohama Port. It offers a harmonious blend of urban architecture and natural beauty, featuring a massive lawn area, tidal ponds, and an elegant arch bridge that connects the city skyline with the sea.
The development of this area is a key part of the Minato Mirai 21 district, serving as a vital green space that links the urban environment with the ocean. Interestingly, the park also serves a functional role in urban disaster prevention; beneath the surface lies a seismic-resistant, 700-ton capacity circular underground water storage tank designed to secure drinking water during emergencies. The park's design is part of the pedestrian network that facilitates movement through the Minato Mirai district.
The most striking feature is the arch bridge, which provides a perfect vantage point to capture both the Yokohama skyline and the sea simultaneously. Visitors can also enjoy the waterfront scenery, characterized by tidal ponds, a well-maintained sandy beach, and stepped embankments.
