Ramosimon

Overview & Highlights

Ramosimon is a limestone structure designated as a National Natural Monument, situated at an altitude of approximately 400m in Niimi City, Okayama Prefecture. The formation was created when a massive underground cave collapsed, leaving behind the remaining rock walls that now resemble a giant stone bridge roughly 40 meters in height. This unique topography is a precious geological heritage shaped by natural processes.

The surrounding area features the well-maintained "Ramosimon Sakura Park," which offers a different face to visitors in every season. During spring, the park is particularly stunning, hosting approximately 700 cherry trees across 11 different varieties—including varieties such as Somei-Yoshino, Yoko, Beniyutaka, and Kanzan—creating a beautiful relay of blooming blossoms.
